No doubt about it, winter is on it's way. We have snow flying in the air here in the midwest. Not sticking so far, but that will change before long. Last year we got a few big snows that the dogs just had a ball playing in. This is Speck, disguised as a white dog.
The nice thing about the cold and snow is our nice warm houses. The bad part of that is how the heat dries everything out. Including our pets skin. HealthyPetNet has a very good dietary supplement that helps combate the dry itchy skin and keep you dogs coat glossy throughout the winter months. Skin & Coat Formula for Dogs & Cats is a chewable formula the dogs (and cats!) love. It contains Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids plus A, D and E. It is an easy way to keep your pet looking good and feeling his best.
Extra care is required when it gets cold and snowy but it isn't difficult to accomplish. After walking your dog in the snow, clean any ice balls from between his toes. If you have walked where salt or other ice melting products have been spread, wipe his feet with a wet cloth and then dry them. If you have a short coated breed, like a boxer or greyhound, you may need to get him a coat to wear on outings that last longer than 10 minutes.
Keep him fed, exercised and warm this winter. And do the same for yourself.
